Toenail Surgery
For patients who have painful, infected, ingrowing or abnormally shaped toenails that have not responded to conservative treatment.
About Surgery
We offer nail surgery for patients who have painful, infected, ingrowing or abnormally shaped toenails that have not responded to conservative treatment.
Nail surgery involves permanently removing the ingrowing section of the nail or the entire nail if required. Following nail removal, a chemical called Phenol is applied to the nail bed which permanently prevents nail regrowth. This procedure is conducted under local anaesthetic and is therefore pain free.
All nail surgery sessions are completed in a sterile surgical field, incorporating full PPE to ensure the highest standards of infection control.
Nail surgery is available to many patients, however a pre operative assessment will be completed prior to surgery to establish if there are any medical reason why the procedure cannot be completed.
